News about Spring Meeting |
Just talked with Freda, our contact at Cherokee Tourism and we have firmed the date April 15-17
KOPA will be staying at The Seven Clans Inn (old Ramada) and rooms will be comped for double occupancy. Fishing permits will be free and there will be special places in the streams where we will be able to battle our own trophies. There will be native models and one native guide (Exotic Native Fishing Tours.com). Freda will feed us a Traditional Native meal on Friday or Saturday evening.
She has also arranged for us to have Traditional Drum group which will help us around a big fire where Freda says we will have to bring our own firewater (she likes Gray Goose vodka). Cherokee is dry country, so KOPA will have to bring liquid refreshment or leave that decision to each member- your call.
Freda will also arrange to have comp rooms available at Seven Clans for those arriving on Thursday night.
This will be a great spring trout fishing trip and spouses can come to fill the double occupancy. There is great shopping in Cherokee and over the mountain in Gatlinburg. The Harrah Casino is the only place where Wanda and I have won any money on the one-arm bandits. It is important for members to sign up within a short date. The Indians need to know the numbers and I can tell you to bring a pencil and a camera to get stories. Remember, we can’t ask for free stuff unless we can pay back dividends in the form of ink, etc.
Registration fee for this event is $20.00 per person
registration application can be email to you upon request
